It’s been ten months since the Poco X4 Pro premiere, and naturally, in the break-neck pace of industry releases, it’s time for Poco’s next-generation smartphone to come out. And while the X4 Pro was a big step backward from the X3 Pro as far as performance was concerned, the new Poco X5 Pro focuses on fixing exactly that. It also brings display and camera improvements, and a new, more streamlined design. The Poco X5 Pro doesn’t deviate much from the established formula – there aren’t major upgrades, though there are enough improvements across the board to make you want to switch to the new model.

The POCO X5 Pro 5G is the latest mid-range smartphone from POCO. It is part of the same series as the Poco X5 5G, with a release date of February/2023. The X5 Pro 5G is designed with a sleek plastic body and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 screen protecting the 6.67 inch AMOLED display with a 1080×2400 resolution, offering a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 500 cd/m² (typ) and a contrast ratio of 5000000:1. Poco X5 Pro boasts a 6.67-inch tall OLED punch-hole display with narrow bezels and a slim chin-notch. The panel offers nearly 87% of the screen-to-body ratio making the device a good choice for playing games, watching movies, browsing, etc. On top of that, the display offers a 120Hz of refresh rate that makes touch interaction smooth while playing games or scrolling through social media apps. Furthermore, it offers an FHD+ resolution of 1080x2400px and is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass.

Poco X5 Pro equips a 5G-ready Snapdragon 778G chipset with a whooping 545k AnTuTu score. On top of that, this octa-core processor ticks at a max clock rate of 2.4GHz and is integrated with 6GB of inbuilt RAM and up to 5GB of virtual RAM making multitasking faster and smooth. In addition, the phone features an Adreno 642L GPU to handle graphics for demanding games, and graphite cooling to prevent overheating. Besides, the device runs on the Android v12-based MIUI 14 skin on top.
